Since this all 18:9 display is on trend, it would be no amaze that Xiaomi is going on the same trend. Xiaomi is all set to make their Xiaomi Redmi 5 & 5 Plus see the daylight on Dec 7th.
Xiaomi Redmi 5 is a slightly smaller sibling to the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5. Like Xiaomi Redmi Note 5, Xiaomi Redmi 5 adheres to the 18:9 display. It was leaked by a Chinese website, and the image below was grabbed before the listing was taken down.
The device will have a 5.7-inch display with HD+ (1440 x 720p) display. It will be powered by Snapdragon 625 SoC coupled with 4GB RAM and 64 GB onboard storage. Camera wise, the machine will have 12 MP rear shooter and 5 MP front shooter. There will be a rear fingerprint scanner, 3.5 mm headphone jack, micro USB port, and the whole metal-covered body.
Redmi 5 will rock on 3300mAh with Android 7.1 topped. It measures 151.8 × 72.8 × 7.7 mm weighing about 157g.
The details on 5 Plus is yet to be known. However, if speculated correctly, Redmi 5 Plus will go on launch on the same date.
Both devices should be available December 10. Price-wise, CNY 1,399 ($211) is rumored, but if the Redmi Note 5 costs CNY 1,000 ($151) to 1,200 ($181), that can’t possibly follow.
